New Orleans Book & Paper Lab is a full-service conservation practice specializing in paper-based materials.  Located in New Orleans, Louisiana, we serve a regional and national clientele with conservation treatment and preservation services for works of art on paper, archival materials, family documents, and rare books.  In addition to conservation treatment, we offer custom housing, condition surveys, and preservation consultation to museums, libraries, archives, galleries, and private collectors.

We serve institutions as well as individuals—whether holders of a single heirloom or comprehensive collections. We work with such institutions as the Smithsonian Institution, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Historic New Orleans Collection, Tulane University, and the Louisiana State Museum.

Contact us at (504) 312-2270 or to schedule an appointment.  Before treatment begins, all items will be examined and tested to determine an appropriate course of action. The fee for this examination is $75, and we will present our findings to you in a formal condition report and treatment proposal.  This fee will be counted as part of the balance if treatment is conducted.  Our estimates are based on an hourly rate, which includes the cost of basic materials and expenses.  Custom enclosures and specialty materials require an additional fee.  Upon receipt of your written approval and a deposit of 50% of the estimate, treatment will be scheduled.
